Piano Accompaniment / Musical Direction
Although I love singing on the stage, I’ve always enjoyed playing the piano for other singers and being an accompanist has long been a significant portion of my work. Please, refer to the “About Tim” section of this website to read about some of the people with whom I’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate.
I am qualified to accompany and coach a broad spectrum of vocal music, including: musical theater, popular |
standards, Italian, French, and German operatic arias and art songs.
I am also happy to accompany the “cabaret” shows of other artists and provide musical direction and coaching to any individual or theatrical production. Below is a partial list of the many shows, some professional and some community theater, for which I’ve played the piano and/or provided musical direction.

"Tim Bruneau is a quadruple threat - a mesmerizing solo pianist, a supportive and nuanced accompanist, a sterling vocalist and a superb teacher. For the past year, it has been my pleasure to sing with Tim in a variety of settings, from cabaret to church to piano bar. Whenever Tim is playing for me, I am transported directly into the heart of the song. He has great insight into the performance moment, with a seemingly spontaneous connection to my intention. During rehearsals he helps me to sort out many different approaches to a song, and I always value his suggestions about dynamics, tempo and vocal color. On stage he is a reassuring force, offering warmth, sincerity and a spicy wit. I look forward to working with him for many years to come."
